Perez Family Caught in Lies Following Suicide of Sebastopol 4th Grader Jianna Duran

Following the tragic suicide of 4th grade Park Side Elementary student Jianna Duran, her mother, Cassandra Perez, shared a critical detail with the media. Ms. Perez confirmed that alleged pedophile and dog rapist Jeremiah Ortega resided in the family’s home through 2023. A different family member claimed that Mr. Ortega never resided in the home. Why is the family’s story not aligning if they all allegedly lived in the same house?

On April 25, 2025, I received a Facebook message from Ms. Jenny Chavez. I was informed by friends and family members that Ms. Chavez is the girlfriend of Mr. Anthony Perez, the brother of Ms. Cassandra Perez.

Ms. Chavez claimed she has been involved with the family for a little over two years, has never met Mr. Ortega, resides at the Perez household 3-4 nights a week, and does not wish to provide a statement as the investigation plays out.

Ms. Chavez’s denial of Mr. Ortega’s residency was odd being that he was arrested at the Perez Family’s Kingwood household on March 31, 2023. Based on the timeline Ms. Chavez provided, she would have been well aware of the arrest. Because I am seeking clarification, I tagged Ms. Chavez on Facebook and Instagram. I have not yet received a response, but am happy to publish one once received.

Ms. Chavez’s last message was sent to me on April 25, 2025 at 12:40 pm.

Santa Rosa Police Department’s (SRPD) dispatch logs indicated that a reporting party from the Perez Family’s Kingwood address made a police report approximately two hours later on the same day, April 25.

The Perez Family indicated that they were receiving death threats due to information posted online.

Based on the dispatch logs, I received from a public records request, I had reason to believe that the Perez Family falsified a police report about me. Therefore, I emailed the following to SRPD on May 8, 2025:

Good Morning Sergeant Seffens,

I hope that you had a nice weekend. I received SRPD dispatch records regarding the XXX Kingwood address of the Perez Family. On 4/25/25, the Perez Family filed a police report. While names were redacted, I would like to confirm if the highlighted statement was about me. My ex-fiance Shelby Pryor (Dodson) is married to another woman. We have no communication with each other whatsoever, and he does not live in Sonoma County. I have concerns that a false police report was made. Thank you & God Bless.

A random new Instagram account started following my page yesterday and commented to defend the Perez Family. Ms. Chavez liked the comments that were posted. I have reason to believe that Ms. Chavez made the fake account, and was liking her own comments. The profile was responding constantly. As soon as I asked if the fake profile belonged to Ms. Chavez, communication ceased immediately.

Since Ms. Chavez claims to be well informed of the Perez Family’s inner workings, hopefully can she can speak to this odd sequence of events, and inconsistencies within the stories. I was informed by multiple family members that Ms. Chavez was aware that Ms. Jianna Duran was sexually abused by Mr. Ortega, but cannot verify the validity of those statements.
