MCHS Registrar Resigned After Allegedly Selling Marijuana to Students
The Counseling Secretary/Registrar for Maria Carrillo High School was recommended for termination after allegedly providing & consuming marijuana with students at her home
Ms. Teresa Barrera Caldera, Counseling Secretary/Registrar for Maria Carrillo High School (MCHS), was recommended for termination by the Santa Rosa City Schools District (SRCS) after allegedly providing/consuming marijuana with students at her home.
On July 21, 2023, Ms. Vicki Zands, SRCS Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, provided Ms. Barrera Caldera with a letter informing her of the district’s recommendation of termination, and opportunity to engage in a Skelly Hearing.
According to the SRCS Board approved personnel transactions, Ms. Barrera Caldera resigned effective 10/31/2023.
SRCS utilized Whitestar Group to conduct a thorough investigation report of the allegations brought forth against Ms. Barrera Caldera.
The investigation focused on Barrera’s encouragement, facilitation and unlawful sales of marijuana, or marijuana-based products to minors. A preponderance of evidence found that the allegations were sustained.
